Getting to India
Direct flights are available with, Virgin, British Airways, Jet and Air India, and these tend to leave the UK in the evening and land in India in the morning, allowing you to make the most of your time there. Flights with stopovers are most likely to be in the Middle East; Emirates, Etihad, and Quatar all run flights with reasonable stopover lengths and even more reasonable prices.
The best option is to fly into Delhi and travel internally to Udaipur from there, if you are heart set on Mumbai however, it is still perfectly possible to incorporate.
We would strongly recommend that if you already know that you are coming, you should book your international flights in the current sales. If you aren't sure yet then don't worry, but do bear in mind that there will be another set of flight sales in June and September.
Directions in India
Udiapur is a short trip away from Delhi. You can fly, drive or take a train there, just follow the instructions below.
Internal transport does not vary in price any where near as much as international flights, so we would suggest that there is some time for you to plan what you want to see and do elsewhere in India before making arrangements.
Flying
Udaipur's Maharana Pratap Airport, just 30 minutes from the city is a short hop from Delhi or Mumbai with multiple flights every day. The airlines that fly there are: IndiGo, SpiceJet, Air India and Jet Airways.
Taking a Train
Taking a train in India is one of the most memorable things you can do, but it is not for the faint hearted! The journey is 674 kms and only takes 12 hours and 10 minutes. As ever The Man in Seat 61 is on hand to offer invaluable advice.
Driving
From Delhi, Udaipur is around a 5 hour drive. If you've got your heart set on the Golden Triangle, or a list of things to see on the way, then this is an ideal option for you. Our recommended travel agent to arrange a car is: NOTSUREYET
