Mehndi 1:00 - 18.00
Guava Gardens
Leela Palace Udaipur
Lake Pichola
The Mehndi forms an integral part of most Indian weddings. Our celebration will be a chance for everyone to get to know each other a bit better in a relaxed atmosphere. We will be having the party in the hotel gardens during the day until sunset.
The dress code is smart casual - be comfortable and happy in what you wear! Leela and family will be wearing indian clothes, but a maxi dress or a shirt and chinos would be just fine to chill in. Guests will also have the opportunity to have a mehndi design put on.
The Mehndi usually takes place just before the marriage, in the presence of friends and family, and involves decorating the bride's hands and feet with intricate designs. Traditionally, the Mehndi applied to the bride was obtained by drying the leaves of the Henna plant. According to popular belief, the darker the colour of the Mehndi, the more her husband will love her.
